Passing Zone Accidents in Oklahoma
Passing zones on highways are designed to provide safe opportunities for overtaking slower vehicles, but these maneuvers can quickly turn dangerous if oncoming traffic is misjudged. State Highway 33 is a high-speed roadway, and passing multiple vehicles at once increases the risk of head-on collisions, which are among the most fatal types of crashes.
Drivers should always use extreme caution when overtaking other vehicles, ensuring they have enough time and visibility to complete the maneuver safely. Factors such as nighttime driving, limited sight distance, and oncoming traffic speeds can all impact the safety of a pass.
