Penrose, CO (January 30, 2025) – A driver lost their life in a head-on collision on Highway 115 near Penrose on Thursday morning as winter weather created hazardous driving conditions across southeast Colorado.
According to the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the crash occurred at approximately 7:19 AM near mile marker 18, just north of Penrose. Two vehicles collided head-on, and one of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending family notification.
