Penfield, NY (November 11, 2024) – A 69-year-old man tragically lost his life after being struck by an SUV at the intersection of Whalen Road and Five Mile Line Road on Sunday morning. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office identified the victim as John H. Alligood of Penfield.
Deputies reported that the SUV was traveling southbound on Five Mile Line Road and making a left turn onto Whalen Road when it struck the man as he crossed the street. Emergency responders, including Penfield Ambulance, rushed Alligood to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.
