Pemiscot County, MO (February 27, 2025) – A motorcycle crash on US 412, five miles west of Hayti, left a 17-year-old rider seriously injured on February 26.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 1:06 p.m. when a 1997 Honda ST1100 motorcycle, traveling eastbound, attempted to overtake another vehicle and rear-ended a 2016 Chevrolet Colorado traveling in the same direction.
The motorcyclist, a juvenile male from Hayti, MO, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to The MED in Memphis, TN, for emergency medical care. The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado, identified as a 23-year-old man from Berry Hill, TN, was not reported as injured.
The motorcycle sustained total damage and was removed from the scene by the owner, while the Chevrolet Colorado had minor damage and was able to be driven away.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine any additional contributing factors.
