Rear-End Collisions in Missouri
Rear-end collisions are a common type of traffic accident, often resulting from driver inattention, following too closely, or failing to adjust to changing road conditions. In construction zones, the likelihood of such accidents increases due to reduced speed limits, sudden stops, and narrowed lanes.
Missouri law requires drivers to maintain a safe following distance to prevent accidents like the one on I-55. When drivers fail to exercise proper caution, victims can suffer physical injuries, vehicle damage, and financial strain. Those injured in such incidents may have the right to pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages.
