Palmer, AK (October 9, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of a 94-year-old woman from Houston. According to the Alaska State Troopers, the incident took place when the vehicle she was riding in was struck on the passenger side while making a turn off the Parks Highway.
The victim, identified as Ida Cockroft, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital following the collision. Troopers reported that the investigation revealed Cockroft was a passenger in a 2018 Ford Focus that attempted to make a left turn onto Cheri Lakes Drive. Unfortunately, the vehicle turned directly in front of a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, which then struck the Ford Focus.
