Palisade, CO – Three Killed in Crash on Hwy 6 Near 34 Rd

Palisade, CO (September 6, 2024) – Three individuals tragically lost their lives in a crash on Wednesday, September 4. The victims included Colorado Department of Transportation employees, 43-year-old Trenton Umberger and 23-year-old Nathan Jones, along with 67-year-old Mesa County resident Kathi Wallace. 

The Jeep Grand Cherokee, carrying Wallace, struck the CDOT workers before hitting a CDOT truck on Hwy 6. The Jeep’s driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, suffered injuries. The Colorado State Patrol continues investigating the accident and is analyzing all factors contributing to the incident.
