Palatka, FL (February 28, 2025) – A 27-year-old man was seriously injured Friday night after his ATV was struck by a sedan on West River Road, west of Saint Johns Court, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The accident occurred at approximately 8:19 p.m. when the ATV rider was traveling along the roadway. Authorities have not yet determined whether the rider was stopped or in motion at the time of the collision.
A sedan, driven by a 70-year-old man, was heading west when its front end struck the back of the ATV. The impact caused the ATV to overturn, ejecting the rider before the vehicle veered into a ditch. Emergency responders arrived to provide medical assistance, and the injured rider was transported for treatment of serious injuries.
The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and was uninjured. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
