Pedestrian Safety and Driveway Accidents in Hawai‘i
Pedestrian accidents in driveways, like this tragic incident on Maiko St, highlight the importance of vigilance in residential areas. While most pedestrian accidents occur on busy roads, driveways can also pose risks due to limited visibility, especially when reversing or maneuvering larger vehicles.
Drivers should take extra precautions in residential areas by double-checking blind spots and maintaining awareness of pedestrians. For pedestrians, ensuring eye contact with drivers and staying clear of moving vehicles can help reduce the risk of collisions.
