Pace, FL (October 30, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday night in Santa Rosa County, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man from Pace. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash took place around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Chumuckla Highway and Smyer Drive.
According to troopers, a 35-year-old woman from Milton was driving westbound in an SUV on Smyer Drive when she failed to yield the right of way. As she entered the intersection, her vehicle collided with the motorcycle that was traveling northbound on Chumuckla Highway.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but unfortunately, the motorcycle driver was pronounced deceased on-site. The SUV driver sustained minor injuries and is expected to recover.
