Oxford, NY (November 9, 2024) – Two individuals were injured in a fire that broke out Friday afternoon at a residence on 27 State St. According to Chenango County Chief Dispatcher George Finch, one person sustained burns, while details about the other individual’s injuries remain unconfirmed.
Emergency responders called for two Life Net helicopters, which transported the victims separately to medical facilities. The severity of their injuries has not been disclosed. The Red Cross is assisting the victims with post-incident recovery and support.
Firefighters from Oxford, Preston, Guilford, McDonough, and Pharsalia Fire Departments, along with Greene EMS and the Chenango County Office of Emergency Services, worked together to extinguish the fire and manage the scene.
