Osceola County, FL (November 4, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on Sunday evening involving a dirt bike, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old boy from Kissimmee. The incident took place around 7:45 p.m. on Marigold Avenue, just south of Peabody Road.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the young rider was traveling north in the southbound lane when he swerved left to avoid a collision with a Chevrolet Traverse. In doing so, he struck a metal pole, which led to a catastrophic outcome. The impact caused both the rider and his 18-year-old male passenger, also from Kissimmee, to be thrown from the dirt bike.
Reports indicate that the 16-year-old landed sideways and into the direct path of the SUV. He was subsequently transported to Poinciana Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The 18-year-old passenger was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Fortunately, the driver and two passengers of the SUV remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities.
