Orchard Park, NY – Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Near W Abbott Grove

Orchard Park, NY (September 10, 2024) – A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near Highmark Stadium on Sunday following the Buffalo Bills game. Police responded to the incident at 41 W Abbott Grove around 4:49 p.m.

Witnesses reported that the driver, identified as 40-year-old Alfred Santiago, fled the scene while the victim was still underneath the vehicle. Santiago allegedly weaved through traffic and drove across grass to escape.

The victim, suffering significant upper body injuries, was transported to the hospital in serious condition. Santiago has been charged with felony DWI, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, and felony aggravated unlicensed operation, among other violations.

Authorities are continuing their investigation and will provide further updates as available.
