Orange County, FL (January 8, 2025) – The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Tuesday evening on State Road 520 near State Road 528 in Christmas.
The collision, which happened around 5 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of SR-520, involved a 2023 Toyota Corolla and a 2019 semi-truck with a trailer. According to FHP, the driver of the Toyota Corolla was transported to a nearby hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The driver of the semi-truck, a 61-year-old, was not injured and remained at the scene to cooperate with authorities. At this time, investigators have not determined the cause of the crash. The incident caused significant traffic disruptions, blocking the eastbound lanes of SR-520 and the SR-528 eastbound exit ramp for several hours.
