Orange City, FL (January 7, 2025) – A 48-year-old Deltona man tragically died Monday morning following a head-on collision on Graves Avenue near the I-4 overpass. The crash, involving two vehicles, was reported at 11:26 a.m., according to Orange City police.
Authorities stated that a Nissan SUV traveling west on East Graves Avenue veered into the eastbound lane for unknown reasons, colliding head-on with a BMW sedan. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles.
The driver of the BMW, identified as a 48-year-old Deltona man, was transported to Halifax Health Deltona but was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival. The driver of the Nissan SUV, a 17-year-old Deltona resident, was treated at the scene for injuries, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Orange City police urge anyone with additional information about the incident to contact Sergeant Kibbe or Officer Hoffman with the Traffic Homicide Unit.
