Omaha, NE (December 30, 2024) – A house fire at 58th and Corby St on Sunday evening prompted a swift response from the Omaha Fire Department (OFD) after reports of possible parties trapped inside. The fire was first reported at 6:37 p.m., and a working fire was declared at 6:47 p.m.
Firefighters, including crews from E24, E21, E41, T41, and T21, worked quickly to locate and rescue the victim, who was pulled from the burning home. The primary and secondary searches were completed, confirming no additional occupants were inside. The fire was declared under control at 6:50 p.m.
The rescued victim was transported to Nebraska Medicine as a Code 99 Trauma case by M24 for treatment of injuries sustained in the fire. The current condition of the victim has not been disclosed.
The Omaha Fire Department’s Investigation Unit (FIU) is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
