Olivehurst, CA – One Killed, Three Injured in Wrong-Way Car Accident on Hwy 70 near McGowan Pkwy

Olivehurst, CA (September 3, 2024) – A tragic car accident on westbound Hwy 70 near McGowan Pkwy left one woman dead and three others injured Monday morning. A Buick, driven by Alannah Eastern, was traveling the wrong way when it collided head-on with a Toyota SUV. The 47-year-old woman driving the Toyota, identified as Francisca Monzono of Elverta, died at the scene.

Two passengers, one from each vehicle, were transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. CHP arrested Eastern for gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and felony DUI causing injury.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash and are expected to provide updates as more information becomes available.
