Oldham County, TX (February 4, 2025) – A tragic rollover crash on RM 1061 left one person dead and three others injured on Sunday evening, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:58 p.m., about 24 miles north of Vega. A 34-year-old man from Irving was driving a 2004 Toyota Tacoma westbound when he failed to maintain a single lane, veering off the road into the north ditch. Authorities reported that the driver then overcorrected, sending the vehicle into a side skid that caused it to cross the roadway into the south ditch. The Tacoma rolled over multiple times, leading to severe damage.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. A 32-year-old passenger and a 26-year-old passenger sustained injuries and were treated at the scene, while an 18-year-old passenger was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
