Oklahoma City, OK (March 7, 2025) – Fire crews responded late Friday night to a serious house fire in the 3100 block of SW 97th St. The blaze was reported at approximately 11:15 p.m., with heavy flames engulfing the rear of a single-story home.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a victim trapped in a front bedroom. Crews acted quickly, making entry through a window to rescue the individual. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current condition has not been released.
After confirming that no other occupants remained inside, fire crews shifted to a defensive attack due to the intensity of the flames, which also posed a threat to nearby structures. Once the primary fire was knocked down and exposures were protected, firefighters resumed interior operations to fully extinguish the blaze.
The home sustained significant damage, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
