Okaloosa County, FL – 76-Year-Old Killed, Two Injured in Crash on SR 189 at Poquito Rd

Okaloosa County, FL (September 16, 2024) – A 76-year-old man from Fort Walton Beach tragically died in a car accident on State Road 189 on Saturday morning, September 14. The crash occurred around 9:50 a.m. when a 19-year-old Laurel Hill man stopped at a stop sign on Poquito Rd before pulling out onto Lewis Turner Blvd, directly into the path of the elderly man’s vehicle.

The 76-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 19-year-old driver and his passenger sustained minor injuries and received medical attention.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances of the accident, and further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
