Odessa, TX (November 29, 2024) – The Odessa Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy and left another teenager seriously injured. The collision occurred around 2:05 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, when a 2018 red Ford F-150 traveling east on 42nd St collided with a 2011 Kia Sorrento heading north on North County Rd West.
The 15-year-old male driver of the Kia was killed in the crash. A 13-year-old male passenger was transported to Medical Center Hospital with serious injuries. First responders acted quickly to provide care at the scene, but the severity of the crash led to tragic results for the teen driver.
The driver of the Ford F-150, 19-year-old Jonah Hurton of Odessa, was arrested at the scene for driving while intoxicated (DWI). He was taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center, where he faces additional charges related to the crash.
