Oconto, WI (December 27, 2024) – A significant multi-vehicle accident occurred Friday afternoon on Hwy 41 near Frog Pond Rd in the southbound lanes, involving approximately nine vehicles and resulting in multiple injuries.
The crash was reported at 2:32 p.m., prompting Oconto Fire and Ambulance services to respond for traffic control and emergency care. While initial reports indicated as many as 16 patients with minor injuries, no hospital transports were required. Lane 2 was temporarily shut down to manage the scene and ensure safety.
Shortly after, at approximately 12:55 p.m., a separate rollover accident was reported less than a mile south of the original scene. Emergency responders from Oconto Falls Ambulance were dispatched to assist a patient experiencing chest pains due to the rollover. This individual was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Oconto Fire crews have since cleared the scene, and the highway has been reopened to normal traffic flow.
