Pedestrian and Bicycle Accidents in California
California roadways, particularly busy highways like I-5, are high-risk locations for accidents involving pedestrians and bicyclists. These incidents often result in severe injuries due to the vulnerability of non-motorized road users.
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) identifies distracted driving, speeding, and failure to yield as common causes of pedestrian and bicycle collisions. Public awareness, proper roadway infrastructure, and adherence to traffic laws are critical for reducing these incidents and ensuring safety for all road users.
For those involved in a pedestrian or bicycle crash, immediate actions such as seeking medical attention, documenting the scene, and contacting authorities are crucial. Consulting with legal professionals can also assist victims and their families in navigating insurance claims and pursuing compensation for damages and injuries.
