Oakland Twp, MI (December 29, 2024) – A head-on collision on Rochester Rd near Beach Dr on Friday afternoon resulted in one fatality and three injuries, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office. The crash occurred at approximately 1:53 PM.
Authorities reported that a 19-year-old Oakland Township man driving a 2011 Ford Edge was traveling southbound on Rochester Rd when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The impact caused significant damage to both cars.
The driver of the Jeep, a 62-year-old man from Clarkston, was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition. His wife, also 62, was a passenger in the Jeep and is currently in critical condition at the hospital. Tragically, a 66-year-old Livonia woman, who was seated in the back of the Jeep, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 19-year-old driver of the Ford Edge was airlifted to a hospital and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities stated that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the crash. All occupants of both vehicles were wearing seatbelts at the time of the incident.
