Oakland, CA (December 23, 2024) – A three-vehicle collision occurred early Monday morning on I-580 Eastbound near the Grand Ave on-ramp. The incident was reported at approximately 4:06 a.m., with vehicles blocking lanes 1 and 2, creating significant traffic disruptions.
Emergency responders arrived to assess the situation and provide assistance. The vehicles involved included a red sedan, a gray sedan, and one other unknown vehicle. Occupants were reported to be out of their vehicles and in the lanes, further increasing the risk to safety. Traffic was diverted off the Grand Ave off-ramp to manage the scene and allow responders to work.
Tow services were dispatched to remove the vehicles, with Auto Plus Towing and US Towing assisting in clearing the roadway. By 4:30 a.m., all lanes were stopped as responders managed the scene. The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the collision and determine whether any injuries were sustained.
