Oakland, CA (December 23, 2024) – A hit-and-run collision involving multiple vehicles and resulting in injuries occurred on eastbound I-80 near the Grand Ave overpass early Sunday morning. The incident was reported at approximately 3:15 a.m., involving at least six vehicles.
Initial reports indicate that a white Alfa Romeo SUV was one of the primary vehicles involved, along with a semi-truck and a Kia. Additional vehicles were reported at various points along I-80 and near West Grand Ave. The crash, which initially occurred on the bridge, led to significant disruptions as emergency responders arrived on the scene.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) units and Oakland Fire were dispatched to assist injured individuals and clear the roadway. SFPD was also involved in managing the scene on Yerba Buena Island, where several of the affected vehicles were located.
