The Risks of Highway Collisions in New York
Highway crashes, particularly on major routes like I-684, can be especially dangerous due to high travel speeds and heavy traffic volume. When an accident occurs on a highway, the chances of secondary crashes increase as drivers attempt to maneuver around stopped or disabled vehicles.
Some of the most common causes of highway collisions include distracted driving, lane departures, sudden braking, and driver fatigue. Poor weather conditions and road hazards can also contribute to accidents, especially on high-speed roadways.
Victims of highway crashes often sustain serious injuries, including whiplash, broken bones, and head trauma, depending on the severity of the impact. Medical bills, rehabilitation, and lost wages can create financial burdens for those injured in accidents. Seeking legal guidance can help victims understand their rights and explore options for compensation.
