The incident has left a woman critically injured. Emergency responders from North Fort Myers Fire and Lee County EMS were alerted to the scene at approximately 2:04 a.m.
According to preliminary reports sourced from Fire and EMS radio communications, a female aged between 45 and 55 was involved in the crash and was ejected from the golf cart. Paramedics estimated that the cart was traveling at a speed of at least 35 miles per hour at the time of the incident. The woman sustained a traumatic head injury and was transported to Gulf Coast Medical Center in cardiac arrest.
An LCSO Sergeant on the scene confirmed that she was the only victim transported to the hospital. It remains unclear if there were any additional passengers in the golf cart at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and no further details have been released.
