Newton, MA (October 2, 2024) – A serious accident occurred on Monday night when a 45-year-old woman from Pittsburgh crashed into a Massachusetts State Police cruiser. The incident took place around 9:30 p.m. on the Massachusetts Turnpike (Mass. Pike) westbound at Mile 126.
According to a statement from State Police, the woman was driving a Subaru Forester when she rear-ended the cruiser, which was stationed at a detail. The impact resulted in injuries to the trooper inside the cruiser, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Forester was arrested at the scene and charged with driving under the influence of liquor.
