Newton, KS (September 11, 2024) – A 22-year-old woman, identified as Aubrie-Li C. Lakey, tragically died after being struck by a vehicle on Interstate 135. The incident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near E 1st St.
Kansas Highway Patrol reports that Lakey was walking northbound in the southbound lanes when a Dodge Durango, with three occupants, hit her. None of the occupants in the SUV were injured. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident.
