Newton County, MO (January 9, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred on MO-86, approximately 1.5 miles south of Granby, on Thursday morning, leading to injuries and significant damage. The crash happened around 7:57 a.m. and involved a juvenile driver and an adult driver.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident took place when a 2019 Ford F-150 pulling a trailer slowed to turn into a private driveway. A 2008 Ford Edge, driven by a 17-year-old female from Neosho, MO, was unable to see the stopped vehicle due to ice on the windshield and collided with the rear of the truck.
The Ford Edge sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Poore’s Towing of Neosho. The F-150 suffered minor damage and was driven from the scene. An occupant of the Ford Edge, a 16-year-old female from Neosho, sustained injuries and was transported by EMS to Freeman Hospital in Neosho for treatment. The driver of the F-150, a 32-year-old male from Granby, MO, was uninjured but was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The juvenile driver of the Ford Edge was wearing a seatbelt and escaped injury.
