Newburg, MO (December 28, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a significant accident involving two pedestrians and a vehicle on County Rd 7260, about 6.5 miles southeast of Newburg, at approximately 2:35 PM yesterday. The incident involved a 2013 Dodge Dart that had been parked on a hill and began rolling backward, striking two individuals attempting to manage the vehicle’s movement.
The vehicle rolled over a 17-year-old female pedestrian, causing her to sustain minor injuries. A 19-year-old female, also present at the scene, suffered moderate injuries while trying to activate the parking brake. Both individuals were transported to Phelps Health for treatment by Phelps Health EMS. The Dodge Dart, which had been parked northbound on the hill, ultimately came to rest atop one of the pedestrians. Responders, including Trooper K.J. Estes and Corporal C.M. Barclay, conducted an on-scene investigation to determine the sequence of events.
