Nashville, TN (November 13, 2024) – Emergency responders were dispatched early Wednesday morning to a crash involving a school bus on Briley Parkway South near Centennial Boulevard. The collision was reported at approximately 6:30 a.m., and it caused injuries and significant traffic disruptions in West Nashville.
According to Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS), the bus, carrying three Hillsboro High School students, struck the median wall on Briley Parkway. One student sustained injuries and was transported to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt for evaluation. The bus driver and monitor were also injured and required hospital treatment.
All southbound lanes of Briley Parkway were closed to allow emergency crews to provide medical care and clear the wreckage. Traffic was diverted at Centennial Blvd, leading to significant backups extending to Clarksville Pike. Commuters were advised to avoid the area and use alternate routes.
