Naperville, IL (February 20, 2025) – An elderly man lost his life in a devastating house fire in Naperville, according to local authorities.
Naperville police and fire crews responded to the blaze at a residence in the 3500 block of Redwing Court, near Scullen Middle School, just after 3:15 p.m. Smoke was seen billowing from the home as emergency responders arrived on the scene.
Firefighters attempted to rescue a man trapped on the second floor, but their efforts were hindered by the intensity of the flames, which engulfed both floors and caused an interior stairwell to collapse. Unfortunately, the man did not survive. Another individual was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities identified the deceased as Krishna Emmadi, a man in his late 70s. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
