Nanjemoy, MD (September 16, 2024) – A crash involving a senior-living bus and a dump truck claimed three lives this morning in Charles County. Maryland State Police identified the bus driver, Charlie Parker, 84. Passengers Darlene Burrell, 64, and Cassandra Brown, 61, all of Maryland, as the victims.
The crash occurred shortly before 8 a.m. on Port Tobacco Rd, when the bus lost control and collided head-on with an eastbound dump truck. The driver of the dump truck was not injured, and investigators do not suspect impairment.
Port Tobacco Rd was closed for several hours while authorities conducted an investigation. The Maryland State Police Crash Team continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal incident. Further details will be provided as the inquiry progresses.
