Mountain Home, ID (November 6, 2024) – A serious accident occurred late Tuesday afternoon when a 76-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross a road. The incident took place around 6:30 p.m. at the intersection of American Legion Boulevard and N 14th Street E.
According to the Idaho State Police, the collision involved a gray 2015 Subaru Forester driven by an 86-year-old woman from Grand View, who was traveling eastbound on American Legion Boulevard. The pedestrian was in the crosswalk when she was hit by the Forester. As a result of the impact, the 76-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a local hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, the driver of the Subaru was not injured in the incident.
The Idaho State Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. It took approximately three and a half hours to clear the scene and provide assistance to those involved.
