Monument, CO (November 5, 2024) – A tragic hit-and-run collision outside a McDonald’s in Monument is now being investigated as a homicide by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO). The incident occurred just before noon on Monday in the parking lot of the McDonald’s located at Baptist Road and Struthers Road.
According to EPSO spokesperson Cassandra Sebastian, law enforcement responded to the scene, where they discovered a severely injured woman. Despite efforts by first responders to provide medical aid, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The EPSO and Monument Police Department are actively searching for the suspect vehicle, described as a dark Chrysler minivan with distinctive features. The minivan has light-colored metal trim, a horizontal stripe along the side, no front license plate, stock silver rims, and notable damage to the front passenger bumper and side. It may also have red paint scuff marks on the front passenger side and a white handicap placard hanging from the rearview mirror.
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information regarding the suspect vehicle to come forward to assist in the investigation.
