Montgomery County, AL (December 07, 2024) – A Phenix City man, Antonio Ivarra, 39, tragically lost his life in a head-on collision early Friday morning near Montgomery. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred around 1:30 AM on Hwy 126, about a mile east of Montgomery, near mile marker 2. Ivarra was driving an SUV when it collided head-on with another SUV. He was ejected from the vehicle after not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel.
Ivarra’s passenger, a 29-year-old man from Auburn, sustained injuries and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. The driver of the second SUV was also injured and taken to a local hospital for medical care.
