Montgomery County, MO (December 24, 2024) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred on Monday evening on Highway 19 south of Highway 94, resulting in multiple injuries. The collision was reported at approximately 5:50 p.m. and involved a 2005 Toyota Avalon and a 2011 Chevrolet HHR.
According to Trooper O.G. Imhoff, assisted by Trooper Z.T. Chastain, the crash happened when the Toyota Avalon, driven by a 21-year-old female from Kirksville, MO, for reasons still under inquiry overcorrected, crossed the center of the roadway, and collided with the Chevrolet HHR. The Chevrolet attempted to avoid the Toyota but was struck on the driver’s side. Following the impact, the Chevrolet veered off the right side of the road, while the Toyota overturned and traveled off the left side.
Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed by Hagedorn. The injured individuals were transported to area hospitals. The crash remains under investigation as authorities examine the circumstances leading to the collision.
