Monterey, CA (February 3, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle crash resulted in major injuries late Monday night on northbound State Route 1 (SR-1) near Aguajito Road, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The crash occurred around 9:55 p.m. and involved four vehicles, including two pickup trucks and two sedans. One of the vehicles overturned, coming to rest on its side in the slow lane, while another was found five feet up an embankment. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and confirmed multiple injuries. At least one individual suffered significant trauma, prompting a second ambulance dispatch.
Authorities shut down northbound lanes to assist victims and clear the wreckage. Tow trucks were called to remove the damaged vehicles, and traffic was diverted at the Soledad exit.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
