Monroe, IL – One Killed, Three Injured in Car Crash on Hanover Rd

Monroe, IL (September 2, 2024) – A car crash Sunday afternoon, September 1 on Hanover Rd resulted in one death and three injuries. The accident occurred around 3 p.m., about a quarter mile west of IL Rte 3, per Illinois State Police. Before the crash, a Waterloo officer noted the car speeding on Rte 3.

One person died at the scene, while another suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. Two juveniles sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by ambulance.

The identities of those involved remain undisclosed. Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
