Monroe County, MI (November 12, 2024) – A series of crashes on I-75 in Monroe County caused major traffic disruptions Tuesday morning. The incidents began around 5:55 AM and required emergency crews to respond to multiple locations along the northbound and southbound sides of the freeway.
The first crash occurred near Swan Creek Rd on the northbound side, reportedly involving a motorcycle. An ambulance was present at the scene, but details regarding injuries have not been confirmed.
While police were managing this incident, a second crash was reported further south along the same stretch of freeway. Near the exit to I-275, a truck was involved in a severe crash around 7:00 AM. Emergency crews worked to free the driver after metal rods from the truck’s bed penetrated the cab. Additionally, on the southbound side near Huron River Drive, the left shoulder, left lane, and center lane were closed temporarily due to related traffic disruptions. All lanes on I-75 have since reopened, but drivers were advised to expect delays as normal traffic flow resumed.
