Millsboro, DE (December 8, 2024) – A tragic three-vehicle crash occurred near Millsboro yesterday evening, leaving one woman dead and another individual seriously injured. The collision took place at approximately 5:56 p.m. at the intersection of Coolspring Rd and Harbeson Rd. According to Delaware State Police, a Ram Promaster traveling westbound on Coolspring Rd failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a southbound Nissan Sentra on Harbeson Rd. The impact caused significant damage to the Sentra, while debris struck a northbound Jeep Grand Cherokee, causing minor damage.
The driver of the Nissan, an 86-year-old Millsboro man, sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. His passenger, a 79-year-old Millsboro woman, was also transported to the hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries. Authorities are withholding her identity pending family notification. The driver of the Promaster, a 29-year-old man from Salisbury, MD, suffered minor injuries and declined medical transport. The Jeep’s driver, a 32-year-old Lincoln, DE resident, was not injured.
The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
