Milan, OH (September 7, 2024) – A serious collision involving a Mack truck and a dump truck injured two men on Friday afternoon, September 6. The accident occurred at the intersection of Mason Rd E and Hoover Rd in Milan Township around 12:45 p.m. Authorities reported that the Mack truck, traveling south, failed to heed a stop sign and collided with the dump truck moving east. The impact sent the Mack truck off the road into a tree, and the dump truck overturned, striking a utility pole.
The 57-year-old Mack truck driver from Parma sustained incapacitating injuries despite being buckled up. The 26-year-old driver of the dump truck, hailing from Berlin Heights, was extricated and transported with serious injuries, having not worn his seatbelt.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash, with assistance from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and Milan Township Fire Department.
