Midway Twp, MN (February 18, 2025) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 60 and County Rd 17 in Midway Township, Cottonwood County. The accident occurred at approximately 11:39 a.m. and involved a 2020 Honda HR-V and a 2017 Ford Edge.
According to reports, the Honda was traveling eastbound on Highway 60, while the Ford was heading southbound on County Rd 17 when the two vehicles collided at the intersection. Mountain Lake Police Department, the Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office, and Mountain Lake Fire and Ambulance responded to the scene.
First responders, including paramedics, assessed and treated individuals hurt in the crash. The passenger of the Honda, identified as 80-year-old Kaydra Ellen Berlin of Butterfield, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Windom Hospital for medical care. The drivers of both vehicles, Elizabeth M. Rhodes, 64, of Hudson, WI, and Claire Albert Berlin, 81, of Butterfield, did not report any injuries.
Authorities have confirmed that all involved individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident. No alcohol was reported as a contributing factor. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
