Midland, TX (October 30, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on Monday afternoon in Midland, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist. The incident took place at the intersection of West County Road (WCR) 100 and South County Road (SCR) 1305.
According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the accident involved a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, which was operated by 33-year-old Ethan James of Odessa, and a 2024 Kenworth truck, which was driven by 40-year-old Caleb Wimp of Midland. Both vehicles were traveling eastbound on WCR 100 when the Kenworth made a turn north into a private drive. Unfortunately, the motorcycle collided with the back of the truck.
Ethan James was transported to Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, where he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday afternoon. It is reported that James was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, and Wimp was wearing a seatbelt. Fortunately, Wimp did not sustain any injuries from the collision.
