Miami Township, OH (September 25, 2024) – A traffic accident occurred early Tuesday morning, September 24, 2024, on Interstate 75, resulting in injuries to two individuals. At approximately 5:40 a.m., troopers from the Dayton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene near Austin Blvd following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Preliminary investigations indicate that a Toyota Camry, driven by 26-year-old Ivis Nicolle Vega Oviedo from Moraine, was traveling southbound when she lost control of her vehicle. The Toyota crossed through the median into the northbound lanes, where it subsequently struck the trailer wheels of a commercial vehicle operated by 62-year-old Randall Wilson from Franklin.
As a result of the collision, Vega Oviedo sustained serious injuries, while her passenger, 49-year-old Yany Grisel Manueles Ramos, also from Moraine, suffered minor injuries. Both individuals were transported to Kettering Hospital for medical treatment, according to a spokesperson for the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Fortunately, the driver of the commercial vehicle was unharmed in the incident.
The left lane of I-75 northbound was closed for approximately two hours as emergency responders worked to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to look into the details of the accident to determine the exact cause.
