Miami Gardens, FL (November 11, 2024) – A major collision involving a Publix 18-wheeler and a Ford F-250 early Monday morning resulted in the death of one person and caused significant road closures near the Publix warehouse in Miami Gardens. The incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. in the 18300 block of NW Miami Court.
According to Miami Gardens Police, the driver of the Publix freightliner was making a left turn from NW Miami Court to travel westbound on NW 183 Street. At the same time, the driver of the Ford F-250, reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed, failed to stop and collided with the trailer.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pronounced the driver of the Ford F-250 deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released, and police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Chopper 6 footage from the scene showed the Publix truck and the heavily damaged pickup truck, with authorities blocking the area to manage the investigation.
