The incident took place just after 11:30 a.m. at the intersection of Meridian and Franklin roads when a 19-year-old driver ran a red light.
According to the Meridian Police Department, the officers were traveling southbound on Meridian Road in a marked patrol vehicle when a silver Toyota Corolla, driven by the 19-year-old, struck the passenger side of their Ford Explorer. The impact of the collision caused the officers’ vehicle to also collide with a blue Chrysler 300 that was traveling southbound.
