Mena, AR (October 27, 2024) – A tragic accident occurred on the evening of October 24, 2024, on State Highway 8, near State Highway 375, resulting in the death of a young man. At approximately 9:08 p.m., emergency responders were alerted to the scene of an accident involving an electric bicycle.
According to preliminary reports, Levi A. Givens, a 19-year-old resident of Mena, was traveling westbound on his electric bicycle when an unknown vehicle approached from behind. The vehicle struck the rear of Givens’ bicycle while both were in the westbound lane of traffic. Following the collision, the driver of the unknown vehicle fled the scene, leaving Givens injured. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries.
